Books-A-Million's BAM Brigade Continues Partnership with Salvation Army After Another Successful Coffee for the Troops Campaign

The 12-year partnership between Books-A-Million and The Salvation Army has raised over $1 million for communities across the United States. A donation goal of $100,000 has been set for this year's holiday fundraiser.

Birmingham, Ala., November 3, 2015-The holiday fundraiser between Books-A-Million and The Salvation Army launched on Sunday, November 1, and customers will be able to donate through Saturday, November 14. In its 12th year, the holiday fundraiser has now raised over $1 million. The goal for the fundraiser is $100,000 and customers can donate at their local Books-A-Million. All funds donated go towards helping The Salvation Army missions in their community.

'It is an honor to partner with The Salvation Army and show them support through the generous donations of our customers,' said Misty Fontenot, Senior Vice President of Operations for Books-A- Million. 'The Salvation Army provides help to so many that need it, and we are proud to contribute to their cause.'

The Salvation Army holiday fundraiser is another way in which the BAM Brigade can rally to support Books-A-Million's philanthropic efforts. The BAM Brigade consists of the customers and associates of Books-A-Million that unite for a good cause.

In the most recent campaign, the BAM Brigade rallied to support Books-A-Million's Coffee for the Troops donation drive. The BAM Brigade donated 57,113 bags of Joe Muggs coffee and Books-A-Million contributed an additional 11,423 bags. Total donations were 68,536 exceeding the goal of 50,000.

'As we approach the holiday season, it is a good time to give thanks and give back to our communities,' said Scott Kappler, Vice President of Marketing for Books-A-Million. 'Once again, the BAM Brigade surpasses our goal. They really have shown that they will support the causes we champion and I have no doubt that, this holiday, The Salvation Army fundraiser will be the best yet.'

With the success of the Coffee for the Troops campaign, the BAM Brigade continues to support the philanthropic efforts of Books-A-Million, and continue its history of supporting local communities.

In addition to the Coffee for the Troops campaign, Books-A-Million would like to show a small token of appreciation for those that have served. In Joe Muggs locations, veterans and service members will receive a free tall coffee by showing their Military ID on Veteran's Day, November 11.
