Canam-Bridges has landed a contract to provide Goodco Z-Tech products for the project to replace the Dolbeau Bridge in Quebec. The bridge was built in 1947 in the town of Dolbeau-Mistassini and now needs to be replaced, as its structure has reached the end of its useful life. The new bridge will be 860 feet long (262 m) - 427 feet (130 m) longer than the existing bridge-and feature three lanes: two towards Dolbeau and one towards Mistassini. A median barrier and a sidewalk protected by a pedestrian restraint system will also be installed to ensure the utmost safety.

The project will involve the fabrication of 10 confined elastomeric bearings, 10 seismic isolators (lead-rubber bearings) and 119 feet (36.2 m) of modular expansion joints. The bearings will be delivered in October and November 2017, while the expansion joints are set to be delivered in the spring of 2018. All the components will be fabricated at the Canam Group plant in Laval, Quebec.
