CHICAGO, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Capacity (parent: Capital Growth Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CGSY)), the world's leading telecommunications information and logistics company, today announced that it has won a contract to deliver Engineering Services to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Global Capacity will engineer, install, configure, test, and commission a private optical network among four MIT locations. This network will provide virtually unlimited bandwidth between the sites, enabling key research and development activities at the University.

Global Capacity has built and manages a variety of complex private networks for universities, health care systems, financial services firms, and state and local governments. These customers value the flexibility and scale of private optical networks to deliver strategic capacity at very competitive price points, but generally lack the expertise in house to effectively design, implement, and manage them. Global Capacity's Engineering and Remote Management Services enable clients to take advantage of the economic benefits of private optical networks, without the need to create and staff internal organizations to build, manage, and administer them.

"We are pleased that MIT has chosen to contract with Global Capacity to create a strategic network for the University," said Patrick Shutt, Global Capacity Chief Executive Officer. "Engineering Services are a fundamental building block of Global Capacity's business, and our expertise helps leading institutions like MIT take advantage of the benefits offered by building private networks."
