On April 19, Carbures completed an important milestone by obtaining the IATF automotive certification at its plant in El Burgo de Osma. This certification is promoted by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which is an organization that brings together the main automotive manufacturers in the world: BMW, Ford, Renault, Volkswagen, General Motors, Daimler, etc.

Prior to this certification, the plant held ISO TS 16949, which was the necessary regulation worldwide. In the case of the IATF, the manufacturers have created their own standards to respond to the high level of their requirements made to their suppliers. Carbures has been preparing for almost a year to adapt to the new certification. He hired an independent external auditor to ensure that the plant met the requirements, then a two-day prior audit was conducted to approve the final exam, and a demanding final audit with two auditors for almost four days led to the IATF aproval.

The certification is issued by Bureau Veritas, and reviews all the processes, from the purchase of raw material, to after sales, through production, quality, and all departments involved such as human resources, engineering, logistics, etc.

Obtaining the IATF in El Burgo de Osma, where more than half a million automotive parts have been produced in the last three years between manufacturing and assembly, is of great importance, since it allows us to continue working worldwide with the main manufacturers of automotive. As a Tier 2, Carbures it is among the first to obtain it.
