Trovagene, Inc. announced the election of three new independent Directors to its Board of Directors; Dr. James Armitage, Ms. Lâle White and Dr. Gary Pace. Dr. James Armitage is professor of internal medicine in the division of hematology and oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and formerly served as President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and as a member of the ASCO Board of Directors. Ms. Lâle White is the Chief Executive Officer of XIFIN, a health information technology company that leverages diagnostic information to improve the quality and economics of healthcare, and formerly Vice President of Finance for Laboratory Corporation of America, one of the largest clinical reference laboratories in the U.S. Dr. Gary Pace is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive who co-founded several early-stage life science companies and serves as a director of Pacira Biosciences, Inc., Simavita Ltd. and Antisense Therapeutics.
Cardiff Oncology, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company. It is leveraging PLK1 inhibition, a well-validated oncology drug target, to develop novel therapies across a range of cancers with the unmet medical need. It is focused on clinical programs in indications, such as RAS-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), and in investigator-initiated trials in metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (mPDAC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Its lead drug candidate, Onvansertib, is an oral, small molecule drug candidate that is highly specific for PLK1 inhibition with a 24-hour half-life.
