The companies join forces in a groundbreaking cooperation aimed at reducing operational emissions as CIS Group's role as Integrated Service Provider for the management of remote sites located in onshore environments. CIS Group secured this year important contracts in South America, West Africa and Eurasia, benefiting from sustained sales momentum in all its operating areas worldwide. This commercial dynamism brings its own set of challenges, and the group, aware of its environmental impact, is already implementing a series of actions aimed at guaranteeing maximum efficiency in its operations, while reducing its footprint. In this venture, CIS Group will collaborate with a leading local partner to provide specialized expertise, where food waste could be valorized at the site through the Waste Transformers' technology.

With the MoU in place, The Waste Transformers and CIS Group will work hand in hand on international projects aimed at valorizing food waste in remote locations, starting with project with high potential impact. The Waste Transformer biodigesters aim to be strategically incorporated into the different projects worldwide to convert food waste into clean energy, contributing to a circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of large-scale operations.

In the context of mining projects, this means turning the food waste generated at the catering operations into a valuable energy source and natural fertilizer for local usage. Additionally, more awareness is created around food waste reduction and reuse, as still globally over one-third of all food is being wasted.

In light of the MoU, both organizations are gearing up to introduce their first Waste Transformers in 2024, in Africa - where waste management is often an issue. By strategically situating on-site biodigesters at the largest work sites, the transportation of food waste to distant landfills will be greatly reduced.
