Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Alice Mak will depart for Beijing tomorrow for a three-day visit aimed at strengthening exchanges and collaboration on district governance, youth development and women's affairs.

During her trip to the capital, Miss Mak will call on the State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office and the Committee on Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan & Overseas Chinese of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

She will also visit the All-China Women's Federation, the All-China Youth Federation and other groups.

Additionally, the youth affairs chief will officiate at the inauguration ceremony of two youth internship schemes and meet Hong Kong students and youths in Beijing.

The two schemes are the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Internship Programme at Palace Museum and the Youth Internship Programme at Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Miss Mak will return to Hong Kong on July 19. During her absence, Under Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Clarence Leung will be Acting Secretary.
