Salesforce Wear initiative creates the first ecosystem connecting wearable technologies with enterprise developers to connect with customers in a whole new way

BURLINGTON, Mass. , Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ClickSoftware (NasdaqGS: CKSW) today announced it has joined the Salesforce Wear initiative, creating the first ecosystem dedicated to accelerating the adoption of wearables in the enterprise. ClickSoftware is helping businesses create wearable experiences with ShiftExpert by providing workers easy access to job information, location and biometric data via the app on devices including the Samsung Gear 2 device.

A native Salesforce1 Mobile Ready App, ShiftExpert gives employees, shift managers and planners complete visibility into who works when, and deeper insight into how the schedule will impact service levels, special coverage needs and the budget. The app is integrated into the Salesforce1 Platform, providing a seamless experience for all Salesforce users. In addition, it's one of the first AppExchange apps that integrates with wearable technology, enabling anytime, anywhere access.

"Our mission at ClickSoftware is to help organizations of all sizes to provide the best customer experience while balancing operational costs," said Dr. Moshe BenBassat , Founder and CEO of ClickSoftware. "By combining ShiftExpert with the power of wearables, organizations have the ability to drive a better customer experience and higher productivity through real-time, data driven connectivity."

"Like mobile 10 years ago, wearables presents a huge opportunity for businesses to transform the way they work," said Daniel Debow , SVP emerging technologies, salesforce.com. "ClickSoftware's ShiftExpert app adds further value and functionality to Salesforce through shift planning capabilities, while the integration with wearable devices turns a visionary idea into reality for organizations of any size, enabling employees to connect with customers and each other faster and smarter."

  • Control overtime costs and quickly react to exceptions.

The Salesforce Wear Developer Pack for the Salesforce1 Platform
Until now, there has not been a trusted, enterprise cloud platform for businesses that want to embrace wearables. Developers who wanted to create business focused applications did not have access to an industry leading platform, reference applications and code, ecosystem support or customer data. Developers in the wearable space built great prototypes, but were not connected to a platform.

Now more than 1.5 million Salesforce1 developers can kickstart a wearable strategy. With access to a growing library of devices, sample code, documentation, demonstrations and reference apps to learn from, enterprise developers can immediately start building their own business applications connected to wearable devices.
