Baltimore (March 21, 2014) - Constellation announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Amry Corps of Engineers as a qualified contractor through its Renewable Energy Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) to compete for government task orders to provide solar generation projects for U.S. Department of Defense installations.

"Constellation is proud to once again be selected as a qualified contractor through the MATOC and to assist the Department of Defense in meeting its mandates for renewable energy, security and sustainability," said Lou Hutchinson, vice president of public sector and energy efficiency sales for Constellation.

In 2013, Constellation was selected under the Renewable Energy MATOC as a qualified contractor for geothermal systems.

The Renewable Energy MATOC is a contract vehicle for solar, wind, biomass and geothermal technologies with a total funding capacity of $7 billion. The MATOC allows the Department of Defense to procure large-scale, reliable, locally generated, renewable and alternative-energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for up to a 30-year period. Under each PPA, the Army will only purchase the energy that is produced; no generation assets will be acquired. Selected contractors will finance, design, build, operate, own and maintain the generating assets.
