Local housebuilder Crest Nicholson has secured planning approval for much-needed high quality new homes at its brand new Nobel Park development in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Across the 8.2-acre site, the development will comprise 158 two to five bedroom energy efficient homes, including 30 affordable homes for shared ownership and affordable rent. Each of the homes will benefit from solar PV panels and EV charging.

Residents of Nobel Park will benefit from a range of amenities across the wider Nobel Park development, which once completed, will comprise play areas and a series of footpaths and cycle paths, which will promote active travel and connect residents with the wider community. The site will additionally contain sustainable, nature-based drainage features which double up as informal recreational spaces and provide ecological benefits, as well as managing water during times of high rainfall.

With the build due to start in spring 2024, the first completions are anticipated for September 2024.

Richard Smith, Regional Development Director at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, comments: "We are pleased to have been granted planning permission to deliver much needed new homes in Didcot. The planning approval will enable us to build upon our track record of providing high quality homes in the Didcot and wider Oxfordshire area. Just 10 miles away in Wantage, our Fuller's Grove development has been incredibly popular so far and has just six five bedroom family homes remaining, and we're expecting a similar response to our newest community.

"As well as providing much needed new homes, we're committed to creating thriving, sustainable communities who have access to a range of amenities on their doorsteps and are integrated within the wider community."

Situated within the rolling Oxfordshire countryside, yet within easy reach of Didcot, Newbury, Oxford, Bristol and London, Nobel Park is set to be a vibrant new community. Residents will be able to access a range of community facilities on their doorstep within the development, plus shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, and cafes within Didcot.

Didcot is positioned on the train routes between London, Swindon, Bath and Bristol, and London and Oxford, making it ideally suited to professionals who commute into nearby cities. It is also equidistant between the M40 and M4 motorways, providing access to the M25, the west and Wales.
