Daewoo Engineering & Construction donated 200 million won to Habitat for Humanity and is in the process of renovating old houses for 7 families of descendants of independence fighters.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction executives and employees carried out exterior painting work at Choi Young-ja's old house located in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do. Habitat for Humanity supported overall remodeling work, including interior insulation, windows, and flooring. Choi Young-ja's grandfather, the late Choi Dae-hee, a contributor to independence, was arrested and imprisoned while working as a liaison and propaganda officer for the Saeun Farmers' Association. In 2006, his contribution to the independence movement was recognized and he was posthumously awarded the National Foundation Medal.
