We're delighted to announce that Rima Te Wiata has won the local award (Australia and New Zealand) of Best Actress In A Leading Role at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for her brilliant performance in The Tender Trap. The presentation was held on Thursday September 30th, and national winners will now proceed to the next stage: the Grand Awards take place on Thursday December 2nd, with the red carpet and Gala Awards following on Friday December 3rd.

The Tender Trap - a Greenstone TV production for TVNZ, made with the support of NZ On Air, and distributed internationally by DCD Rights - tells the shocking true story of Sharon Armstrong, a middle-aged woman from New Zealand. Having fallen foul of a targeted romance scam, Armstrong was arrested for drug trafficking, and served time in a Buenos Aires jail.

We wish Rima Te Wiata the best of luck for the next stage of the Awards, and would like to congratulate all involved in The Tender Trap.
