FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - According to information from negotiating circles, the fourth round of negotiations in the wage dispute at Postbank has ended without a result. The unions initially did not comment on this on Wednesday. Deutsche Bank declined to comment.

Verdi wants to achieve a 15.5 percent increase in pay for around 12,000 employees in the Deutsche Bank Group with a Postbank collective agreement, but at least an increase in monthly salaries of 600 euros. The union is also calling for the protection against dismissal to be extended until the end of 2028. Deutsche Bank plans to close up to 250 of the 550 Postbank branches by mid-2026, including staff cuts.

The Deutsche Bank Employees' Association is demanding a 14.5 percent pay rise for a period of one year and the introduction of a full company pension scheme for employees. Before the fourth round on Tuesday, the unions had increased the pressure and repeatedly called for warning strikes. According to negotiating circles, Deutsche Bank is said to have recently offered 10 percent more money and an extension of protection against dismissal, among other things./mar/DP/mis
