Guest discussion topics include the effectiveness of veterans micro-dosing cannabis to treat PTSD, cannabis as a step-down drug, the real casualties of America's War on Drugs, and new cannabis- and hemp-based businesses. Video highlights of the show are now available at: http://youtu.be/4u_RGMAzkWI.

"The Southern California Cannabis Cup was the perfect venue to speak with political activists, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs involved in the cannabis and hemp industries," said Denkin. "We believe our listeners will learn a great deal from our featured guests."

The new segment kicks off with writer, photographer, and Senior Cultivation Editor of High Times magazine Danny Danko recalling how the first Cannabis Cup was started by Steven Hager in an Amsterdam hotel room in 1988. At this first-ever editorial event, a handful of people rated many strains of cannabis. High Times magazine brought the Cannabis Cup home to America in 2010, where it has rapidly grown and is now hosted in six locations: San Francisco, San Bernardino, Denver, Clio (Michigan), Seattle, and--beginning in 2015--Portland.

Next, Diane Goldstein of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and Bianca Barnhill of Spark the Conversation describe their views of the role of women in the cannabis movement. Goldstein says that women are natural nurturers who take care of their families and communities. She blames the failed War on Drugs, which emphasizes criminalization over a public health model, for the drug overdose death of her brother. Barnhill, who is a cancer survivor who used cannabis as an exit drug to get off of 13 cancer-treatment-related pharmaceutical drugs, believes women offer a softer voice and have helped to open a more rational debate about cannabis.

Kevin Richardson of the Weed 4 Warriors Project shares how back and leg pain and PTSD resultant from serving his country led to his increased use of painkillers and several suicide attempts. He says that micro-dosing cannabis has allowed him to get his life together.

Later in the program, Michael "BigMike" Straumietis of Advanced Nutrients, LLC, discusses the evolution of cannabis cultivation; David Bernstein and Vlad Stelmak of WeedHire International discuss job creation in the cannabis and hemp industries; Beverly Hills criminal defense attorney and DUI specialist Meital Manzuri discusses the legal issues surrounding marijuana DUI cases; and legendary cannabis cultivator Jorge Cervantes discusses his book Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible, which is now available in its fifth edition.

The program ends with highlights of interviews with Amercanex founder Steve Janjic, Auntie Dolores Edibles and Treat-Ibles founder Julianna Carella, and world-renowned grower and TNMNews West Coast Correspondent Kyle Kushman.
