(Alliance News) - Diversified Energy Co PLC on Monday said Chief Financial Officer Eric Williams has resigned from the company to "pursue other professional opportunities," after six years in the role.

The oil and gas production company said Williams will work through to the end of this month to "ensure a smooth transition". Diversified Energy has assets in numerous US states, including Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

Williams will be replaced by the company's current chief operating officer, Brad Gray, effective immediately.

Gray has been COO for Diversified since 2016, and prior to that worked as CFO for Royal Cup Coffee & Tea.

Chief Executive Officer Rusty Hutson said: "On behalf of the entire Diversified team, I would like to thank Eric for his contributions over the last six years. Since joining the company in July 2017, Eric has been instrumental in transforming our finance team. We appreciate Eric's leadership and commitment to Diversified's success and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to promote and place Brad into the role of CFO, who has a deep understanding of Diversified."

Shares in Diversified were down 2.8% at 85.35 pence each in London on Monday morning.
