New Opening: DMG MORI Arena

DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter "DMG MORI") will open DMG MORI Arena in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, close to Iga Campus from September 30th, 2023. Prior to that, an opening ceremony was held on September 13th, 2023.

DMG MORI Arena is an indoor facility for health and sports and serves as a communication center for the local community. It was formerly known as "Yume Dome Ueno" and owned by Mie Prefecture, but DMG MORI acquired the ownership in April 2022 and has been renovating the facility since.

In addition to the existing facilities (Stadium No.1 with seats for 1,600 spectators, Stadium No.2, training rooms, and conference rooms), DMG MORI has newly built an athletic facility, a dance studio, a cafeteria, as well as the largest sports climbing stadium in Japan. The climbing stadium is the only domestic facility with three types of indoor climbing walls (lead, boulder, and speed) that attract climbers from all over the country. Stadium No.1 is capable of hosting international lead climbing competitions. In the kids' athletic area, children from 3 to 6 years can experience bouldering, too. The arena also serves as a designated refuge for Iga City and contributes to disaster prevention and safety of the local community.

DMG MORI is committed to creating landscapes and revitalizing the local community; we have grown wine grapes in the abandoned land near Iga Campus, planted cherry trees, and installed streetlights. Through DMG MORI Arena, we hope to contribute to the health of local residents and support athletes. DMG MORI will continue its efforts to create a better environment to further energize the local community.

Outline

: Iga Campus was established in 1970 and is the largest production site of the DMG

MORI Group. It includes assembly and machining plants, the R&D Center with

showrooms with approximately 60 state-of-the-art machines, the Service Center that

responds to customer inquiries and requests, as well as the DMG MORI Academy for

training with the latest machine tools.
