Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced it had been awarded a road maintenance contract by Hamilton City Council, valued at up to $540 million over a maximum term of 10 years. The contract is for an initial five-year term, plus provisions for extensions of three years and two years. Downer will partner with Hamilton City Council in the Collaborative Corridor Agreement to deliver a broad scope of works including asset management, surfacing and renewals for road corridors, footpaths, bridges, culverts, lighting and on-road cycle lanes across Hamilton in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island.

Downer has a long relationship with Hamilton City Council dating back to the Hamilton Infrastructure Alliance which commenced in 2013. The Collaborative Corridor Agreement replaces the Hamilton Infrastructure Alliance and expands the scope of services delivered by Downer.
