BOSTON, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Municipal Bond Fund II (NYSE MKT: EIV) (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three and six-month periods ended March 31, 2014. The Fund's fiscal year ends on September 30, 2014.

For the three months ended March 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $1,937,020 ($0.194 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $9,657 (equal to $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $1,927,363, or $0.193 per common share. The Fund's net investment income for the six months ended March 31, 2014 was $3,853,685 ($0.385 per common share, before deduction of the preferred share dividends totaling $0.002 per common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $0.383 per common share. In comparison, for the three months ended March 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $1,861,784 ($0.186 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $19,186 (equal to $0.002 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $1,842,598, or $0.184 per common share. The Fund's net investment income for the six months ended March 31, 2013 was $3,746,328 ($0.374 per common share, before deduction of the preferred share dividends totaling $0.005 per common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $0.369 per common share.

Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended March 31, 2014 were $7,121,616 ($0.711 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended March 31, 2014 were $5,874,706 ($0.586 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended March 31, 2013 were $1,531,727 ($0.153 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended March 31, 2013 were $1,799,346 ($0.180 per common share).

On March 31, 2014, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $124,481,812. The net asset value per common share on March 31, 2014 was $12.43 based on 10,013,381 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on March 31, 2013, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $131,942,717. The net asset value per common share on March 31, 2013 was $13.18 based on 10,012,198 common shares outstanding.
