With heart disease a major health concern, Brookdale Greenwood Village has launched a heart failure program and named a cardiac expert as its head.  Greenwood Village, Colo., March 16, 2015 - With heart disease a major health concern, Brookdale Greenwood Village has launched a heart failure program and named a cardiac expert as its head. The initiative is designed to help short-term rehabilitation patients make the transition from hospital stays back to their homes. Brookdale Greenwood Village is located at 6450 S. Boston St., Greenwood Village.

Appointed as the heart failure program's director is Ira M. Dauber M.D., a board-certified cardiologist who serves as medical director for cardiovascular services and cardiovascular quality at Swedish Medical Center.  Dr. Dauber is an interventional cardiologist and research director at South Denver Cardiology Associates.  A fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he is an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Dauber has been named among the "Best Doctors in America" multiple times, most recently in 2014.

The Brookdale Greenwood Village heart failure program, whose staff is specially trained in cardiac care, provides heart-focused exercise, weight management, diet modification, heart-healthy meals and lifestyle education. The program also coordinates follow-up medical appointments and support, coaching and monitoring of patients after they return home.
