Investor Relations Newsletter - May 26, 2023 Edition

Total energy consumption rises 2.6% in April 2023.

Consumption in April 2023:consolidated free and captive electricity consumption (3216.4 GWh) in Energisa Group's concessions rose by 2.6% compared with the same month last year. The sectors contributing most to the result in the month were residential, commercial and industrial. The longer billing period at 7 out of the 10 companies significantly contributed to this outcome, as did the food, beverage and non-metallic mineral sectors.

In the month, 9 of our 10 distribution companies reported higher energy consumption in their concession areas, led by EPB (4.9% or 19.2 GWh), EMS (3.3% or 16.6 GWh), ERO (4.3% or 11.9 GWh) and ETO (5.3% or 11.3 GWh). The residential sector (4.9% or 58.9 GWh) reported the highest consumption growth in the month, with EPB (9.4% or 16.2 GWh), EMS (6.1% or 10.9 GWh) and ESE (7.9% or 8.3 GWh) enjoying the largest increases. Residential consumption was primarily driven by the positive calendar factor and warmer weather in certain regions.

The commercial sector experienced growth of 2.5% (14.8 GWh), with the highest growth at EMS (5.9% or 15.7 GWh), ERO (4.6% or 15.7 GWh) and EPB (3.1% or 2.2 GWh). The commercial result was driven by similar factors to the residential sector, with a notable emphasis on the food distribution chain and general retailers. The industrial

sector reported growth of 1.7% (10.7 GWh), with the concessions most impacting this result being: EMT (3.2% or

5.8 GWh), ERO (10.7% or 4.1 GWh) and EMS (2.2% or 2.6 GWh), driven by the food, timber, metal and nonmetallic minerals sectors.

The sector other saw consumption rise by 0.2% (0.9 GWh), with the result for the month being determined by the concessions of EPB (4.2% or 2.6 GWh), ERO (6.2% or 2.2 GWh) and ETO (2.2% or 0.6 GW), as the effects of the pandemic ease. Lastly, the rural sector contracted due to the concessions EMT (-2.9% or -2.8 GWh), EMS (-4.9% or -

2.5 GWh) and ESS (-8.3% or -2.2 GWh), primarily impacted by the greater use of distributed generation.

Consumption in the first 4 months of 2023: Energisa Group's captive and free electricity consumption (12,622.4 GWh) rose 0.6% over the same period last year. The food and metal sectors all performed well, and the longer billing calendar and warmer weather in February and April, especially in the North and Northeast regions, were all contributing factors. 6 distribution companies reported growth in the four first months of the year, led by EPB (+4.6% or 72.5 GWh), ETO (+6.4% or 50.8 GWh) and ERO (+4.3% or 47.3 GWh).
