Energy Developments Limited (ENE or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire 30MW of electricity generation assets ("Generation Assets") from Clarke Energy Australia ("CEA") for approximately $23 million including a deferred payment component.
The Generation Assets are to be acquired by ENE and then leased back to CEA for an initial lease-back term of 12 months with potential extensions, subject to CEA's upstream LNG related operational needs. The lease-back revenue stream is due to start in July 2014 following completion of the acquisition, which is also expected to be in July 2014.
This transaction, on normal commercial terms and conditions, represents 30 MW of 36 MW previously under option arrangements announced on 24 February 2014. The option to acquire and lease back the remaining 6 MW of electricity generation assets is available to the Company until mid-December 2014.
ENE Managing Director Greg Pritchard said: "The Generation Assets are a strategic fit, extending the Company's footprint closely adjacent to our Waste Coal Mine Gas assets. This acquisition and our pipeline of future growth initiatives are expected to supplement organic growth with incremental earnings."
