HOUSTON (AP) _ Exterran Corp. (EXTN) on Tuesday reported a loss of $16.3 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 49 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 47 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 82 cents per share.

The provider of services for the oil and natural gas industry posted revenue of $161.3 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $168 million.
