Upgrades allow for improved internet access and speeds in 13 New Hampshire towns, including more than 1,900 locations in Belknap County

MANCHESTER, NH(May 4, 2017)- FairPoint Communications1 announced today the completion of broadband expansion projects in 13 New Hampshire towns that extend and enhance FairPoint's approximately 18,000 mile fiber optic network, which is the largest, fully-owned and managed fiber-based network in northern New England. As a result of these completed projects, improved broadband speeds are available to more than 14,000 locations throughout New Hampshire. In Gilford and Laconia, more than 1,900 locations have been impacted - providing broadband service to some locations for first time. "Broadband access enhances the way we live, learn, and work providing New Hampshire residents the opportunity to engage and transact far beyond the borders of the Granite state," said Pat McHugh, New Hampshire state president for FairPoint."Families rely on broadband access and businesses need it to compete, so our team knows how important it is to complete these projects."
