GE Vernova's power conversion business has been awarded a contract by Singapore shipbuilder ST Engineering Marine.

The contract covers the supply of its power system with integrated electric propulsion equipment (IFEP) for the Republic of Singapore Navy's Multi-Role Combat Vessel (MRCV) program, comprising six vessels.

These are the first IFEP-powered vessels for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). These vessels will replace the fleet of Victory-class mechanically-powered missile corvettes, which have been in service since 1989.

Delivery of the electric propulsion systems for the new ships is scheduled over the next ten years.

GE Vernova's power grid supplies the electrical energy needed for the ship's propulsion, and powers its operational and mission systems, such as radar and communications.
