Gloucester Coal Strengthens Management Team

Gloucester Coal Ltd ("Gloucester Coal") today announced the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer

(CFO), General Manager Environment & Community Relations, and a Business Optimisation Manager.

Chief Financial Officer - Chris Woodward

Chris was previously the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of Hastie Group where he held the position for 7 years having overall responsibility for financial and risk management. During his time at Hastie Group the company grew to a turnover of $1.8 billion through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.

Prior to his role at Hastie Group, Chris was Finance Director at ALSTOM Australia/New Zealand. Chris will formally join Gloucester Coal on 21 November 2011.

Managing Director and CEO of Gloucester Coal, Brendan McPherson welcomed Chris Woodward by commenting, "Chris will be a valuable addition to the Gloucester Coal management team. His experience as CFO of an Australian listed company and his extensive knowledge of systems and processes will bring a fresh perspective to the Gloucester Coal Management Team."

General Manager Environment and Community Relations - Mark Jacobs

Mark was previously Development Director at Charter Hall Group where he was involved in numerous complex development projects. In his 12 years at Charter Hall Group, Mark was responsible for all aspects of project development including gaining government approvals and managing environmental and community issues.
"Mark joining Gloucester Coal will provide the Company with a dedicated resource to manage the various projects across the group. His extensive experience will prove invaluable in the execution of the major projects planned across all our mining operations", Mr McPherson said.

Business Optimisation Manager - Bridget McCall

Bridget was previously Regional Business Improvement Manager for OneSteel and prior to that Director Business Improvement, Global Lean Deployment for Rio Tinto Alcan in Canada. In her previous roles over the past six years Bridget was responsible for delivering transformational improvements and change management across complex operations. Bridget is a qualified Six Sigma Black Belt.
"Bridget's appointment is critical to the delivery of the Gloucester Coal improvement program that is currently being developed. Her high calibre expertise will be instrumental in achieving the productivity and process improvements across the Company", Mr McPherson said.
