Gold Hydrogen Ltd (ASX: GHY) chair Alexander Downer gives Proactive an update on the company’s progress in relation to its flagship Ramsay Project. Contractor Savanna Energy has been engaged to provide drilling services for the company’s first exploration well on the project which is designed to replicate the results of the historical Ramsay Oil Bore 1 which encountered natural hydrogen up to 89% purity. Drilling is scheduled to get underway in October.
Downer says a second well location has been identified with land access approval now in place.
Gold Hydrogen is focused on the discovery and development of world-class natural hydrogen in a potentially extensive natural hydrogen province in South Australia. The company has only recently identified the natural hydrogen potential of this region.
Gold Hydrogen sees an “extraordinary opportunity” to define and ultimately develop a new natural hydrogen gas province in South Australia, especially given the domestic and global demand for hydrogen, combined with the company’s own novel natural hydrogen exploration techniques and experienced personnel.
The company believes hydrogen could play a “key role in decarbonising our essential, but energy-intensive, heavy industries like steel production, shipping, heavy transport and aviation”.
