Graphene NanoChem announced it has filed a Malaysian patent application in relation to a unique method of making graphene nanocomposites by multiphase fluid dynamic dispersion. The company's multiphase fluid dispersion device, PlatSperse, provides a significant enhancement to the Group's platform in graphene dispersion and enables Graphene NanoChem to explore a more diverse range of applications with a view to commercialising graphene enhanced products. The addition of graphene to a host material can enhance the properties for multifunctional applications in numerous industries such as oilfield, automotive, aerospace, medicine, electronics, structural and mechanical and energy.

PlatSperse enables direct dispersion into a polymeric host material, for which there is great demand due to its high mechanical strength and excellent electrical properties. PlatSperse provides a simpler, more cost effective and "in situ" method of directly and evenly dispersing graphene nanomaterials within a variety of aqueous solutions and polymeric materials. The group will be seeking to extend the patent protection for its latest inventions in selected jurisdictions worldwide.
