FCC Construccion and Convensa participate in the commissioning of the first phase of the Extremadura High-Speed Corridor. An infrastructure of 150 kilometers in length between Plasencia and Badajoz, passing through Caceres and Merida, and which represents an investment of 1,700 million euros. The Madrid Extremadura High Speed ??Line (437 kilometres), which Adif AV is developing with an estimated investment of more than 3,700 million, forms part of the Atlantic Corridor and will be completed with two other sections: Madrid-Oropesa and Tayuela-Plasencia, the latter in execution.

His Majesty the King traveled on the inaugural train, accompanied by the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez; the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sanchez; the Government delegate in Extremadura, Yolanda Garcia; the president of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernandez Vara; and the president of Adif and Adif AV, Maria Luisa Dominguez, among other authorities.

Within the actions of this first phase of the Extremadura High-Speed ??Corridor, FCC Construccion and its subsidiary Convensa have carried out different and relevant works, among which we highlight:

The section Embalse de Alcantara-Garrovillas, which includes the Almonte Viaduct, undoubtedly the most emblematic structure of the line, internationally recognized with numerous awards.

The section of platform that runs between Arroyo de la Charca and Grimaldo and the replacement by expanding the horizontal and vertical gauge of the overpass within the municipality of Gevora together with the suppression of the Monfrague access level crossing.
