(Ålesund, 16 July 2015) HAVFISK achieved operating revenues of NOK 257 million in the second quarter 2015, which is NOK 31 million higher than the same period in 2014. EBITDA came to NOK 84 million in the second quarter 2015, an increase of NOK 37 million compared with the second quarter in 2014.

Income per operating day is 47 per cent higher in the second quarter 2015 compared with the corresponding period last year. This is mainly due to higher prices and increased catch efficiency (catch volume per operating day). Shrimps, redfish and other species represent 42 percent of the total volume in the quarter against 28 percent in the second quarter in 2014. In the quarter more cod and less haddock and saithe have been fished compared with the same period in 2014.

-We are satisfied with the results from the operations in the second quarter although several of our vessels have completed planned maintenance stays. Especially the fishery of other species such as shrimps and redfish have increased considerably, in line with catch strategy and expectations, says CEO Webjørn Barstad.

In the quarter the achieved average price for all harvested volume increased by 28 percent compared with the second quarter in 2015.

-The prices have increased in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2014 both for cod and saithe. The haddock prices have decreased, while the shrimp prices have been good, says Barstad.

Operating revenues for HAVFISK came to NOK 257 million in the second quarter 2015, against NOK 226 million in the corresponding period in 2014. EBITDA came to NOK 84 million against NOK 47 million in the second quarter 2014. EBIT in the second quarter 2015 came to NOK 53 million against NOK 16 million in the same period in 2014. The profit before tax was NOK 41 million for the quarter, compared with NOK -4 million in the second quarter of 2014.

For the first half of 2015 operating revenues amounted to NOK 504 million, compared with NOK 440 million in first half 2014. EBITDA in the first half 2015 was NOK 174 million, compared with NOK 112 million in the same period in 2014. EBIT was NOK 112 million against NOK 55 million in 2014. Profit before tax was NOK 86 million in the first half 2015 compared with NOK 11 million in 2014.

On 6 May 2015, the Board decided to pay a dividend of NOK 0.75 per share for 2014, a total of NOK 64 million. The share was listed ex. dividend on 8 May.

HAVFISK's available liquidity, including drawing rights, totalled NOK 176 million at the end of the second quarter of 2015, compared with NOK 210 million at the end of the first quarter of 2015.

Net interest-bearing debt was NOK 945 million at the end of the second quarter 2015. This is NOK 16 million higher than the end of the last quarter.

HAVFISK had a total equity of NOK 890 million by the end of the first quarter 2015, corresponding 36.2 per cent.

-HAVFISK has used the second quarter to prioritize fishing for redfish, shrimps and other species, in addition to cod. On 10 June 2015, Norway and Russia agreed to increase the total quota of haddock for the current year by 25 percent. The quota basis for cod and haddock is thereby good for the second half, says CEO Webjørn Barstad.

- Fishing in the third quarter will also be directed at shrimps, redfish and Greenland Halibut to begin with, then increasingly turning to cod, haddock and saithe. The main part of the year`s planned maintenance is completed, continues Barstad.

The ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) gave its advice for cod, haddock and saithe quotas in June. The quota advice for 2016 implies a ten per cent reduction in the cod quota. The haddock quota, that increased with 25 percent at the end of the second quarter, is recommended to a further 9 percent increase in 2016. The recommendation is to increase the saithe quota in the North Sea and north of 62 degrees by approximately 7 percent overall. Final determination of quotas will be done by the Norwegian authorities during the autumn.
