Hellaby Confirms Appointment of Retail Specialists and Restructure of Footwear Group

Hellaby Holdings Limited (HBY) has confirmed the appointment of specialist retail consultants to advise and implement the restructure of Hellaby's Footwear Group.

The Group consists of Number One Shoes and Hannahs, which together make up approximately 25% of the New Zealand footwear market. Both brands will continue to operate in the marketplace, with centralisation to allow for economies of scale and strong market positioning that will improve profitability over time.

The combined business will be governed by a newly established Footwear Group advisory board, which will be chaired by Hellaby CEO and managing director, Alan Clarke, and will include senior team members from Hellaby, Hannahs and Number One Shoes, along with two full time external appointments - John Elliott and Roger Harper - and an independent footwear retail expert, Ron Halls.

Ron, John and Roger all bring deep retail leadership and executive experience. John and Roger will be working full time with the footwear teams and management to build a new group that is New Zealand's leading national footwear retailer that employs over 1,000 staff nationwide.
