Honma Golf : So Yeon Ryu and Jung-Gon Hwang win tournaments in the United States and South Korea in the same week

So Yeon Ryu and Jung-Gon Hwang, both under contract to play Honma Golf Co., Ltd., (head office: Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 35F, 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; representative director & president: Yasuki Ito) products, won the LGPA Tour's Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G (June 23 to 25; Pinnacle Country Club, Arkansas), and the 60th KPGA Championship with A-ONE CC (June 22 to 25; A-ONE Country Club in Busan, South Korea), respectively.

Starting her event's final day five strokes ahead of the nearest rival, Ryu finished the round at two-under and never relinquished her lead for her first victory since April, when she captured the ANA Inspiration -- 2017's first major. With this victory, she secured the No. 1 spot in the Rolex rankings and has become a leader in the LPGA prize-money race and in terms of other key stats.

Meanwhile at the South Korean tour's major event, Hwang entered the final round tied for fourth place two strokes behind the leader, but scored an eagle and four birdies to shoot five-under par -- achieving a stunning come-from-behind victory. With this victory, he earned the right to advance to the The CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges, which will be held in October as the first official event on the U.S. PGA tour to be held in South Korea.
