IG : hires Adam Wheelwright as new Chief Technology Officer

London, UK, 4 April 2023 - IG Group (LON:IGG), a purpose-led, global fintech, today announces it has appointed Adam Wheelwright as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to drive its innovation agenda. Adam will be based in the company's London headquarters and joins on 17 April 2023.

Adam has extensive experience in designing and delivering complex, transformational technology projects across financial services and large organisations, and has led teams across the US, Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining IG Group, Adam was the Chief Information Officer of the UK Health Security Agency and a member of the Executive Committee for NHS Test and Trace since 2021. There, he was responsible for the design, delivery, and evolution of all technological solutions supporting the nation's pandemic response.

Prior to that, Adam was a Managing Director at NatWest Group, where he co-founded the digital retail bank Bó and served as its Chief Operating Officer. He was also the Chief Administrative Officer of NatWest Markets, the capital markets arm of the Group, where he led its £500 million digital transformation programme. Adam began his career as a technology consultant, before embarking on a career in investment banking that includes roles at UBS, Nomura, and Dresdner Kleinwort.
