Fabriano, February 11th, 2013 - illycaffè, the reference brand for coffee excellence and culture, and Indesit Company, among the leading manufacturers and marketers of household electrical appliances in Europe, have agreed to manufacture and put on the market "Hotpoint for illy", a new line of home espresso machines based on illy Iperespresso system and Hotpoint technology and design.
"This strategic partnership aims at increasing even more our consolidated experience in the portioned capsule coffee sector, which is experiencing a great and significant growth" Andrea Illy, president and managing director of illycaffè S.p.A. said. "By enriching the Iperespresso machine range, the partnership with Indesit Company represents for illycaffè a valuable chance to expand its distributive strength".
"This partnership is an absolute innovation that will enable Indesit Company to begin expanding its action to new sectors similar to ours. The choice of the Hotpoint brand is due to the high level of performing innovation and to its excellence, which have always distinguished it in the world of big household electrical appliances" Andrea Merloni, President of Indesit Company, said.
In the following months Indesit Company will launch the first two new coffee machine models, synthesis of the Hotpoint brand innovation and design, and of illycaffè technological know-how and excellence in preparing espresso.
The new coffee machines will use Iperespresso, the innovative capsule system invented by illycaffè and protected by 5 international patents, exclusively studied and developed in the research laboratories of the company in Trieste, and based on a revolutionary extraction chamber capsule: coffee is extracted in two different phases, hyperinfusion and emulsion. This system yields a silky, well-balanced, and aromatic espresso, topped by an extraordinarily rich and velvety long-lasting cream. Iperespresso capsules contain 100% Arabica illy coffee: illy's classic blend (medium roast, dark roast, long, decaffeinated) or the three illy Monoarabica single origins (Brazil, Guatemala, Ethiopia).
The strategic partnership with illy is part of a much wider growth project of Indesit Company in the field of small household electrical appliances for the kitchen and the house in general. In spring the new collection Hotpoint HD Line - marked by innovative technologies, high performance, design, and high-quality materials - will be launched.
In this first phase the partnership is addressed to the Italian market only, but plans are ready to grow soon after in other countries as well. The Hotpoint machines for illy will be available at the best outlets of household appliances as from next June.
