Intesa Sanpaolo Banka dd Bosna i Hercgvn : CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS ON IMPORTANCE OF SAVING 25.10.17

SARAJEVO/MILAN 25.10.2017 - Within the initiative of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, and amid marking of the World Savings Day, the Intesa Sanpaolo Banka BiH will organize a workshop for 35 elementary school goers from Elementary School 'Mula Mustafa Bašeskija' Sarajevo, age 6 to 10, and a visit to Branch Centar.

On the same day, 31.10.2017, it will also organize an interesting quiz related to acquiring and saving money for some of special children's wishes. Participants in this quiz will be rewarded with surprise gifts. On this occasion, the little guests will also receive the Manual for children and parents related to allowance, which was specially prepared amid the Savings Day.

Representatives of the Bank visited before the World Savings Day several elementary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina and organized lessons on topic 'Children and savings'.

A wide range of free events from 24.10. to 31.10.2017 will mark this year's World Savings Day with participation of Intesa Sanpaolo Group subsidiaries reaching also Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.

'The Art of saving' is a program launched by the Savings Museum, Gallerie d'Italia and the Historical Archive from Italy, dedicating it to discussing saving in as many ways as possible, with help from experts, whilst having fun through art and historical resources.

The Intesa Sanpaolo Group's Chairman, Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, stressed that 'today more than ever it is important to celebrate saving again. On one hand, the savers, in their responsible decision to put off consumption, temporarily allow for a value to be accessed by those who can employ it in the production of goods and services in order to generate new wealth for the community. On the other hand, banks must protect the saver by also choosing sound investments in which to put the saved assets. Financial education plays an important role in this process, allowing savers to make informed planning and investment choices.'

Ignacio Jaquotot, Head of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's International Subsidiary Banks Division, said that he was 'delighted to help spread financial knowledge and a saving culture in the countries in which we operate with our banks belonging to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, thanks to the many initiatives and educational activities conceived by our Savings Museum, initiatives which pay particular attention to young people through the participation of schools and families'.

The theme of decisions relating to how to allocate consumption over time, and thus to saving, is not a new one. In 1924, 'World Savings Day' was founded in Milan in the historical seat of the Cassa di Risparmio delle Province Lombarde bank during an international conference. Since its first edition in October 1925, the event was announced with a poster created by some of the biggest names in Italian poster design of the early 20th century (Metlicovitz, Dudovich, Mazza, Bianchi, Corbella).
