Johnson Controls has been voted one of Slovakia' top five employers in the Manufacturing and Industrial sector. The selection was made by a nationwide survey, Najzamestnávateľ 2016, sponsored by Profesia, a national job search portal in Slovakia.

This is the fifth annual survey but the first time Johnson Controls was nominated for the honor. (Nominations can be submitted by any individual who works for the company.) After being nominated Johnson Controls was asked to complete a detailed questionnaire about its policies and operations in Slovakia.

Factors that Johnson Controls highlighted in its responses included training and development programs; diversity of people, ideas, experiences and cultures; continuous improvement; and women in leading positions. An independent jury consisting of representatives from firms that participated in the 2015 competition evaluated all survey responses and selected companies for a short list that was put up for public voting.

Johnson Controls established a regional business center in Bratislava, Slovakia's capitol, in 2007. Slovakia, and Bratislava in particular, has become a magnet for the shared services (finance, accounting, etc.) operations of global companies in recent years. Other multinational firms in the Manufacturing and Industrial sector that Johnson Controls outranked in the 2016 voting were Skanska, Veolia and Yangfeng.
