Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. Revises Consolidated and Non-Consolidated Earnings Guidance for the Financial Year Ending March 31, 2018

Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. revised consolidated and non- consolidated earnings guidance for the financial year ending March 31, 2018. For the period, on consolidated basis, the company expects sales of JPY 1,945,000 million against previously expectations of JPY 1,945,000 million. The company expects operating income of JPY 95,000 million, ordinary income of JPY 65,000 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 50,000 million and EPS of JPY 98.17.
For the period, on non-consolidated basis, the company expects sales of JPY 1,810,000 million against previously expectations of JPY 1,810,000 million. The company expects operating income of JPY 75,000 million, ordinary income of JPY 45,000 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 35,000 million and EPS of JPY 66.46. As for the sales, exceeding the previous fiscal year results even though the electricity sales volume will decline due to the progress of the competition and other factors. That is because, in the electricity business, there will be an increase of the lightning and power revenue due to rise the unit price caused by the adjustment of fuel cost, and increases of both the Electricity Sales to Others and the Grant based on the Act on Purchase of Renewable Energy Sourced Electricity.
Kyushu Electric Power Co Inc is a Japan-based company mainly involved in the electric power business. It has four business segments. The Domestic Electric Power segment mainly consists of domestic power generation and retail business, as well as power transmission and distribution business in the Kyushu region. Other Energy Services segment includes power supply such as construction and maintenance of electric facilities, gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales businesses, renewable energy businesses, and overseas businesses. The Information Technology Communication (ICT) Service segment mainly includes data communication business, optical broadband business, telecommunications construction and maintenance business, information system development business, and data center business. Others segment mainly includes real estate business and paid nursing home business.
