Liberty Global, parent company of Ziggo and Telenet, is outsourcing the development of Horizon TV to India's Infosys. That company managed to negotiate a five-year maintenance contract, according to a press release. This contract involves 1.5 billion euros.

Liberty Global claims to save some 100 million euros annually by outsourcing development. With the transaction, at least 400 Liberty Global developers will join Infosys.

With the transaction, the telecommunications giant is also opening up Horizon TV . Liberty Global will license the platform to Infosys. However, Liberty Global retains all rights to the platform, and also determines the roadmap of the entertainment platform.
