Since now on, real estate developers and private land plot owners planning construction works are able to easily check whether a gas distribution pipeline has been built nearby their land plots and what are the possibilities for connecting to the gas distribution network. Information on neighbourhoods with an installed gas pipeline and the distance thereof to a specific land plot is available on the website of the Centre of Registers at www.regia.lt.

In cooperation between the Lithuanian natural gas distribution system operator Lietuvos Dujos and the Centre of Registers, the data on the natural gas distribution network on the website of regional geo-information environment regia.lt will be updated on an ongoing basis, and the service convenient for residents will be expanded.

"The reflection of the gas pipeline in virtual environment is one of the planned steps of ours towards a more convenient and shorter connection to the gas network. When planning construction, a decision is first of all made on the type of fuel and method of heating of the object. If a builder chooses natural gas, he immediately calculates his investment into the connection to the nearest gas pipeline. By offering a way to find out information without leaving the office or home, we are making the connection to the gas pipeline simpler", - said Liudas Liutkevičius, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Lietuvos Dujos.

Regia.lt map illustrates high, medium and low-pressure gas distribution pipelines in different colours. One of the most convenient things is specially marked blocks, which are being gasified, with already approved conditions for connecting to the gas pipeline, which are uniform for all residents in the block. When planning to acquire a land plot or start construction works therein, it is easy to find out whether the territory where the land plot is located has been gasified, also to preliminary assess the distance from the gas pipeline to the land plot and the cost of connection to the gas pipeline.

A potential natural gas consumer having decided to heat the object under construction using natural gas and planning to connect to the gas pipeline, does not have to necessarily address the customer service centre - he can simply complete an e-application form published on the website of Lietuvos Dujos, and to submit all the documents necessary for initiating the connection process.

When planning other engineering solutions, land plot owners will also find on the regia.lt map information on electricity distribution networks - power grids of different voltage laid in Lithuania as well as transformer substations marked with different signs.

During January - March 2015, Lietuvos Dujos connected 740 new gas consumers to its gas distribution system and received about a thousand applications for connecting to gas pipelines throughout Lithuania.
