CLEVELAND, December 1, 2011 - The 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting and Technology Showcase for The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC), which is being held December 8-9 in New York, will feature a podium presentation by The Lubrizol Corporation's Noveon® Consumer Specialties. Timothy J. Roach, strategic marketing manager - cleansing applications for Noveon Consumer Specialties, will present "Emerging Trends Are Changing the Way Formulators Are Thinking About, and Formulating, Surfactant Cleansing Products."
The educational presentation is scheduled for Friday, December 9, between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m. It will examine key trends in surfactant cleansing systems and how the formulation of these cleansing products is changing to meet current needs and market realities. Three primary trends will be discussed, including: the greater use of food-grade preservatives to meet tighter regulations and greater consumer scrutiny; the reduction of surfactant levels to help reduce total product costs; and the increased use of cost-effective, high-performance surfactant alternatives.
Roach has four years of experience with the Noveon® Consumer
Specialties group, working as product manager for methyl
glucoside derivatives as well as in his current role as
strategic marketing manager. Prior to working with Noveon®
Consumer Specialties, Roach was the technical director at
Scot Laboratories in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He holds a
bachelor's degree in biology from Duke University and a
master's degree in biochemistry from Northwestern
University.
