The Next store in Rugby, UK, has been named the Lux Awards Controls Project of the Year. The installation, which uses Lumentalk technology to control over 500 Lumenpulse luminaires, beat out four other finalists for the honor.

'We're very proud to have won the Lux Award Controls Project of the Year for the Next store in Rugby,' said Francois-Xavier Souvay, President and CEO of Lumenpulse. 'By using Lumentalk, Next could quickly upgrade to LED and digital control, increasing flexibility and allowing them to test the effect of different dimming and lighting applications.'

Lumentalk technology uses existing AC mains as a carrier for lighting control data. The patented technology is independent of any protocol, making it compatible with DMX, 0-10V, Dali or phase dimming. With Lumentalk, Next Rugby can dim and control each Lumenpulse luminaire via DMX, without the cost and disruption of having to install new data wiring.

'The retail lighting environment makes it easy for Lumentalk to shine as it requires a flexible and scalable lighting system,' said Greg Campbell, Senior Vice President Engineering and Chief Technology Officer at Lumenpulse. 'Lumentalk's reliable, bi-directional digital communication uses only the existing power lines, allowing for easy zoning and control capabilities on the fly. Whether it be for ambient light sensing, or re-zoning lighting plans for new fashion rollouts, Lumentalk is perfect for retail's ever-changing needs.'

The Lux Awards were held on November 19th, 2015 in London. Please click here for the Next Rugby case study.
