MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS) today announced the release of Finale 2012b, a free, downloadable update for all owners of Finale 2012, the world standard in music notation software. Broader in scope than previous free updates, this release also includes new features that offer additional motivation for existing customers to upgrade.

Features new to 2012b include automatic range checking, a new Finale Lyric font to improve legibility of lyrics (even on tablet devices), the ability to export EPUB-compatible files (viewable on most tablet devices) and more. Finale 2012b also contains dozens of refinements that directly address both recent and long-standing customer requests.
