MDM is awarded the PFS for Sibanye Gold's Beisa Uranium Project 30 July 2014

MDM Engineering Group Limited (AIM: MDM), the minerals process and project management company focused on the mining industry in Africa, is pleased to advise that it has been awarded the Pre-Feasibility Study ("PFS") for Sibanye Gold Limited's  Beisa Uranium Processing Plant Project.

The project is located at Sibanye's Beatrix Gold Mine which is southwest of the town of Virginia in the Free State Province of South Africa.  The Beisa Project incorporates mining of the uraniferous and auriferous Beisa Reef. Locally it forms part of the Beatrix Gold Mine Mining Right and is situated to the west of current Beatrix 4 Shaft workings.

The scope of work includes adding a uranium plant processing module to the existing gold plant.  The uranium plant will treat 80 000 tons per month ("tpm") of Beisa uranium ore. A total of 120 000 tpm, comprising 40 000 tpm of Kalkoenkrans reef together with the leached uranium solids, will be processed through the existing Beatrix No.2 Gold Plant. Milling of the ore will be done using the existing SAG milling and thickener circuits.

Martin Smith, MDM CEO said:
"The MDM team enjoy a good relationship with Sibanye Gold.  This added to our experience on the Ezulwini gold and uranium project in 2009, will provide valuable insight into executing the project".
