Analyst Update: Financial Results, Operating Performance, Divestitures, and Project Updates

The U.S. market snapped its five-day long losing streak on Friday, helped by rebound in the energy shares and a jump in the consumer sentiment index to 11-year high levels. The University of Michigan preliminary consumer sentiment index for January 2015 rose to 98.2, beating the median forecast of 94.1 that came from economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Energy stocks rallied sharply on Friday, following a rise in the oil prices, helping the S&P 500 index gain 1.34% to close at 2,019.42. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.10% to close at 17,511.57, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.39% to close at 4,634.38. Meanwhile, European equity markets closed mostly higher on Friday, while Swiss market remained under pressure after the Swiss National Bank's move to scrap its three-year old ceiling on franc. In Asia, the markets ended mostly lower as investors fled to safe-haven assets after the Swiss central bank's move.

Grupo Simec, S.A.B. de C.V. (Simec) reported a 7.4% YoY increase in 9M 2014 net sales to MXN20.2 billion, primary due to the increase in the volume of shipments of 69 thousand tons. The average sales price by ton increased approximately 3%.

International Tower Hill Mines Ltd (ITH) announced updates regarding optimization of the Livengood Gold Project and work plan for 2015. ITH controls 100% of the Livengood Gold Project that contains 15.7M oz. of gold (807 MT at 0.61 g/t) measured and indicated and 4.4M oz. (266 MT at 0.52 g/t) inferred, all at a 0.30 g/t gold cutoff, located along the paved Elliott Highway, 70 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Lake Shore Gold Corp. (Lake Shore Gold) reported record gold production of 185,600 ounces in 2014. During the year, the Company repaid c.$45.0 million of debt and increased cash and bullion to approximately $60.0 million. Full financial results for the year and fourth quarter will be released in March 2015.

MAG Silver Corp. (MAG) announced financial result for Q3 2014 and nine months ended September 30, 2014. MAG also announced the appointment of Jill Leversage as the new Board member, effective December 22, 2014.

Metalico Inc (Metalico) closed on the sale of its Lead Fabricating segment for an aggregate all-cash purchase price of $31.3 million, in line with its earlier announcement plans to divest non-core assets in connection with a restructuring of its institutional indebtedness.
