SYDNEY - PCL Solar ('PCL') is pleased to announce that it has been issued a Notice to Proceed ('NTP') for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction ('EPC') works at Gunsynd Solar.

Gunsynd Solar, a cornerstone project of Metis Energy's ('Metis') expanding Australian portfolio, is a 111-megawatt peak ('MWp') photovoltaic solar facility located in Goondiwindi, Queensland. Once operational, Gunsynd Solar will produce upwards of 250-gigawatt hours ('GWh') of energy annually, which is equivalent to powering approximately 32,000 houses in Queensland and abating 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.

'Our team at PCL Solar is very excited to continue working alongside Metis Energy to deliver an affordable and innovative turn-key utility-scale solar solution,' said Gopi Govindraj, Country Manager for PCL Solar - Australia.

PCL's expansion into the Australian renewables sector began in 2020 with Gunnedah Solar, a 110-megawatt alternating current ('MWac') photovoltaic solar project. Gunsynd Solar represents the 5th photovoltaic solar design-build now undertaken in Australia by PCL. Upon successful completion of Gunsynd Solar, PCL will have led the EPC works for 870 MWac of solar power in Australia.

'We are grateful to have been selected as the EPC for Gunsynd Solar by our partners at Metis Energy,' said Andrew Moles, General Manager of PCL Solar. 'I have no doubt that our dedicated and hardworking team will deliver an innovative engineering and construction solution that will exceed their project vision.'

Gunsynd Solar project will serve as the cornerstone of Metis Energy's expanding Australian portfolio.

Metis is appreciative of the support rendered from PCL over the last few months prior to NTP issuance and look forward to the successful delivery of the Gunsynd Solar.

'Metis is glad to have appointed PCL as the EPC Contractor for the Gunsynd Solar project. We have already been working closely with them during the last few months to arrive at this milestone and look forward to continuing the close collaboration to deliver the project,' said Tang Kin Fei, Executive Director and Interim CEO.
