CO2-awareness certificate

Miko n.v. receives CO2-awareness certificate, level 3

Miko received the CO2 Performance Ladder certificate from testing and certification company DEKRA on 15 May 2024. This demonstrates that Miko meets the conditions of CO₂-conscious action in its own operations and when carrying out all kinds of projects. The certification looks at the emissions of the entire Miko Group, including all subsidiaries.

Within Miko, sustainable entrepreneurship has a long history. We offer a growing range of products of fair and/or organic origin, we cooperate with local farmers who reuse coffee husks as soil improvers and we optimise our products when there are more qualitative and ecological alternatives. Since 2023, Miko also has its own wind turbine, which will eventually supply green energy to the new building site. Within the framework of the CO2 Performance Ladder, we have set some ambitious targets: 35% less CO2 emissions by 2028, and 100% less CO2 emissions by 2050.

CO2-Performance ladder

The CO2 Performance Ladder is a sustainability tool aimed at reducing CO2 emissions in organisations. The focus is on energy saving, CO2 reduction and the use of renewable energy. The Performance Ladder gives a good overview of the energy a company consumes and requires constant monitoring and improvement.

The certification was carried out by DEKRA, one of the largest testing and certification institutions in the world. DEKRA has extensive expertise in auditing and certifying management systems in the field of quality, safety, sustainability, and information security.

The certificate is valid until the first quarter of 2027 and will be monitored annually.
