Miko acquires Capriole Coffee Service.

Turnhout, November 14, 2023. - Miko, the Euronext Brussels-listed coffee service specialist, today announced the acquisition of the Dutch and Belgian coffee service company Capriole Coffee Service. Capriole achieves sales of over 12 million euros with about 60 employees.

Capriole Coffee Service is a coffee service operator headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands. Capriole also has a subsidiary in Kampenhout, Belgium.

Like Miko, Capriole focuses on coffee service to the "out-of-home market," the market segment where coffee is consumed outside the home such as in offices, hospitality and institutions. At Capriole, the focus is on the office market. Small and medium-sized vending machines are placed with those customers on rent or loan, or sold. The company supplies the ingredients such as coffee, milk, tea, soup and hot chocolate, and also guarantees a strong service that guarantees the customer a worry-free and pleasant coffee break.

Miko was present in the Netherlands until today with its subsidiaries Miko Koffie Service, which focuses mainly on the hospitality and sports sector, and MAAS coffee, which targets large enterprises and institutions.

The acquisition of Capriole in the Netherlands is structured through subsidiary MAAS, as their activities are more akin to those of Capriole. The Belgian branch will join the ranks of Miko Coffee Service, which operates nationally in Belgium from Turnhout, Mechelen and Kuurne.

Frans Van Tilborg, CEO of the Miko Group: "Capriole Coffee Service has built an admirable organization over the last 5 decades, with a very professional service to its customers. We welcome the dedicated team that has made this possible.

Under the motto "Care for People, Care for Planet, and Care for Product," Capriole also carries everything related to sustainability very highly. This picture fits perfectly into what Miko and MAAS stand for."

Pascal Ultee, director of Capriole Coffee Service: "Capriole has been known as a coffee specialist for small and medium-sized organizations since 1975. We share the passion for coffee, sustainability and excellent service with Miko and MAAS.

We look forward to working with our teams in the Netherlands and Belgium to build on the long-standing relationships with all of our customers, with an important role for the Capriole coffee brand and continued cooperation with our partners."

Frans Van Tilborg added: "This cross-border acquisition is fully in line with our strategy. Following the acquisition of Beyers coffee's out-of-home business in December last year, we are now also significantly strengthening our market position in the Benelux office market."
