MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) _ MobileIron Inc. (MOBL) on Wednesday reported a loss of $16.3 million in its third quarter.

The Mountain View, California-based company said it had a loss of 14 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 4 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 5 cents per share.

The IT company for mobile applications industry posted revenue of $50 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $49.3 million.

MobileIron shares have risen 44% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $7.02, a climb of 14% in the last 12 months.
