Nestlé announces the development by its experts of a database which, with the help of artificial intelligence, can be exploited to help select coffee trees more resistant to the climate change threatening coffee growing.

The Swiss agri-food group's plant scientists are thus exploring new high-yielding Arabica varieties that are more resistant to disease and drought, bearing in mind that around 70% of the world's coffee production is Arabica.

This work was co-directed by Nestlé with the French National Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), and involves collaborative work with several academic partners as part of a global consortium.
