Northwest Natural Holding Co. has named Seattle businesswoman Karen Lee to join its board, effective Jan. 1, 2021. Northwest Chairman Scott Gibson cited Lee's deep industry expertise and leadership, saying it will strengthen his board's collective knowledge and capabilities. For the past 10 years, Lee has been the CEO of Pioneer Human Services, a nonprofit social-enterprise business based in Seattle, which operates several for-profit businesses to help fund its social mission to assist individuals with criminal histories lead healthy and productive lives. Lee was a 2014 Puget Sound Business Journal Woman of Influence. Before that, Lee was the commissioner of the Washington State Employment Security Department, and held several leadership roles at Puget Sound Energy, including director of its gas operations.
