Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA named Jacob Schram as its new chief executive effective 1 January 2020, ending a four-month search. Mr. Schram, has previously held managing roles in Circle K, Statoil Fuel & Retail, McDonald's Corp. (MCD) and McKinsey & Co.

As CEO, he led the process of publicly listing Statoil Fuel & Retail on the Norwegian Stock Exchange in 2010. Interim CEO Geir Karlsen will continue in his role as chief financial officer as well as becoming deputy CEO. Norwegian Air Shuttle founder and former CEO Bjorn Kjos stepped down in July after 17 years at the helm of the airline and is now an advisor to Chairman Niels Smedegaard.
